The Light Rail Safety and Standards Board has praised the work of its outgoing Chair, Sue Byrne, at the end of her three-year tenure in the role.

Carl Williams, the organisation’s Chief Executive, commented: “During Sue’s time with the LRSSB, it has grown considerably and delivered on a broad range of projects that are driving real enhancements to light rail safety.

“On behalf of the LRSSB board, employees, customers and other stakeholders, I would like to thank Sue for the contribution she has made towards our success to date. Her experience and enthusiasm have proved invaluable, and we wish her all the best for the future.”

"A process is now underway to appoint a new Chair for the organisation and further details will be announced in due course. In the meantime, Colin Kerr, Head of Safety and Projects at Edinburgh Trams, has agreed to take on the role of Chair on an interim basis.”
